Linda van Mechelen is the owner of Major Tess Pixie Bobs in Voorburg, Holland where she works for the government. Linda has
worked as a Secretary, Communication Assistant, and a Project Manager. She loves music, dancing, working on her computer,
reading books, and drawing.

Linda grew up in a town called Amersfoort in Holland. From childhood to adulthood, cats have always been a part of her life. She
never thought she would ever breed cats, but then she bought her first Pixie-Bob in 2004. Linda had first learned about Pixie-Bobs
from a Dutch cat magazine named “Majesteit”. Their looks and character caught her eye. “I love the wild look and I love the
description - a dog in disguise.”

After bringing a Pixie-Bob into her life, she fell in love with the breed. What she loves most about the breed is, “They are so close
to their family. They love to be around me, love attention, like to play, and of course they look fabulous!”  Soon, the idea of
breeding these wonderful cats came into her mind. “I thought it would be a shame to neglect to introduce them to my native
country. I would love to see the Pixie-Bob conquer Holland!”

Without the help of a mentor, Linda started researching all the ins and outs of becoming a cat breeder.  She began reading about
breeding, feline pregnancy, raising kittens, etc. When she was ready, she registered her cattery with TICA, created her website,
and imported a male for her program. She was off to a great start.

After more research and hard work she now has two gorgeous girls and two handsome boys in her program. “They are very sweet
and love to cuddle. They love to follow me around, sleep in my arms, and talk and play with me. They know how to manipulate me by
talking to me when they did something they know isn't allowed.  They will surrender by lying on the ground on their back with their
feet in the air.
They can jump very high, and when they walk up or down the stairs, they do so with both back legs at once. Sometimes it looks like
they are jumping like rabbits.

The Pixie-Bobs share my home with two British Shorthairs, one British Longhair, one Norwegian Forest Cat, and one American Curl.
They usually interact well, especially the British shorthair and Pixie-Bobs. The Pixies don’t like my Norwegian Forest Cat and
American Curl very much. They are so sweet, but maybe it is the size and look that the Pixie-Bobs don't enjoy. They don't fight, but
they do chase after each other.”
Now, Linda is showing her Pixies. “I did attend a show in Belgium since there aren't a lot of TICA shows in Holland. I only show when
the cat is easy to handle. Most cats don't like it at all, so I won't be showing much, unfortunately.”

Future goals and plans for her program are “to make the Pixie-Bob more popular in Holland by breeding one or two litters a year,
and through writing articles in magazines.” Linda hopes to have a litter at the end of the year (2007).
Congratulations, Linda, for bringing the Pixie-Bob to Holland!  We look forward to hearing how the fabulous Pixie conquers the
Dutch people.
