escaped. He is a very large boy. With Rodao being the escape artist and a small girl, it was a miracle that he was able to get
out alive.
Rockstar was rushed to the animal emergency clinic where he was treated for smoke inhalation and burns. At this point in
time, the vet was more concerned with the smoke inhalation than the burns. The next 48 hours were the most crucial
especially with the threat of pneumonia being very real. With Amber and Gary by his side he made it through. When they
visited him, he would purr and try to inch as close to Amber and Gary as he could while they were there.
After Rockstar had made it through the first 48 hours it was then on to further assessment, wound debribement,
medication, bathing and bandaging. X-rays showed that his lungs were doing great, however his hip was not. He had broken
his hip socket while trying to escape. Unable to pin it, the vet speculated that the whole side of his hip joint would have to be
compleatly removed. Good news though, the vet also said that it had been done many times before on animals and their
stifle muscles in their legs are able to support their weight so they can move around and live a normal life. That would have
to be done at a later date though, he needed to heal other areas of his body before he could withstand such a surgery.
Rockstar pulled through and was able to go home several days later. Once home, Amber and Gary had to provide him with
around the clock care to insure he healed properly. They took shifts sleeping and going to work. They always made sure
someone was able to stay home with Rockstar to give him the proper care he needed. Once again, Pixie-Bob breeders
stepped in to help a fellow breeder with a pixie in need. Along with their contributions and all of the love and care in the
world being given to him at home, there was finally a light at the end of the long tunnel.
Amber and Gary buried Rodao shortly after the fire in the kitty yard. Where she is buried now grows a small flower garden
with her two favorite plants, catnip and lavender. Along with those are colorful flowers and a memorial plaque. As soon as
Rockstar has healed, he will be able to go out and spend time with his friend along with their other Pixies,Willow, Ro and
Wicked, so she will never be alone and always be among friends.
As of July 1st. 2006, Rockstar is doing very well due to the intense care Amber and Gary are providing him with. The
things they need to do to keep him on the path to recovery are endless, but they are succeeding. There are more hurdles to
overcome with possible surgeries, continuing medication and what not, but Rockstar is in excellent hands and is expected to
make a full recovery.

On June 4th. 2006, our breed lost yet another pixie to a fire. Starsnstripes Rodao, from Rockstar Pixie-Bobs, was enjoying
the evening out with her best bud Astonwoods Rockstar when their enclosure and part of the house caught on fire. It all
happened so fast that when Amber and Gary, owners of Rockstar Pixie-Bobs cattery, realized what was going on, the
enclosure was already engulfed in flames. Her mother grabbed the hose and tried to put out the fire, getting close enough for
the heat to inflict minor burns on her forearms, but there was nothing that could be done until the fire trucks came.
They were convinced that they had lost their two beloved pixies, Rodao and Rockstar. After the fire had been put out,
Amber and Gary were told that one cat had been found in the enclosure, they were able to see that it was Rodao. However,
there was no sign of Rockstar. They figured that he somehow escaped and probably had passed away in a nearby field.
To their dismay, a few hours later, Rockstar came limping back home and cried to be let in. They were overcome with joy
to see their boy alive and were amazed that he had
